		TIMEBANKING [TBG]: A BRIEF DESCRIPTION

Report — June 2012

Written by: Volunteering Unit, Office of Communities, NSW Department of Education
and Communities.

E	WHAT MORE MIGHT TIMEBANKING DO ?

Marks (2012) has investigated the use of Timebanking to support young people
in transitions.

He has argued that it presents opportunities to build engagement, and for
young people to experience co-production of the communities and society in
which they live.

Specifically he sees opportunities in augmenting social and community
service provision, and in developing restitution alternatives.
