2 Discuss Submissions to NSW ICT Governance Board to develop a Strategy to
provide long-term jobs within the Australian "Digital Economy" as
outlined in the Federal Government Strategy 2013-2017

The NSW Government has established an ICT Governance Structure
comprising of 4 Committees:
A Governance: ICT Board with 10 Members, 8 of which are NSW Department Secretaries,
1 of which is the Chair Service NSW Board and the other member is Anthony WONG
immediate past-president of the Australian Computer Society [ACS].
The Chair is Philip GAETJENS Secretary NSW Treasury
B Governance: ICT Leadership Group with 20 Members including 12 Chief Information
Officers of NSW Government Department.
The Chair is John HUBBY A/Chief Executive NSW Office Finance & Services [OFS]
- Does OFS report to NSW Treasury ?
C Governance: ICT Advisory Panel with 10 Members including John BAIRD Deutsche Bank,
Paul COUSINS of Google and Les DAVEY Fujitsu.
Anthony WONG is the Chair of this Committee
D Governance: Accelerating Digital Governance Taskforce with 11 members including
Anthony WONG again and chaired by William MURPHY Deputy Secretary Service Innovation
and Strategy NSW Office Finance & Services [OFS]

Marie JOHNSON Managing Director and Chief Digital Officer, Centre for

"Marie has extensive senior executive experience in the public and
private sectors in Australia and internationally in technology and innovation.
As a Federal government agency Chief Information Officer, Chief Technology Architect
and services transformation strategist,
Marie has led major reform programs across key sectors of government.
At Microsoft, Marie was the chief strategist for Microsoft's Public Services and
eGovernment initiatives worldwide.
As a thought leader, Marie has acted as a trusted advisor to government leaders globally,
and writes and speaks on innovation, the future direction of technology and government
transformation.
Marie's experience includes advisory roles on government, non-government, not-for-profit,
and academic councils and boards.
From a transformation implementation perspective, Marie has led the strategy and
implementation of very significant reform programs to the digital machinery of government:
1 the Business Entry Point (a digital initiative of the three levels of government);
2 the introduction of the Australian Business Number;
3 digital credentials and authentication;
4 technology and operating model design for the Access Card;
5 digital identity and whole of government architecture;
5 innovation in payments and information services;
6 the creation of the BasicsCard; and
7 designing and implementing a digital operating model and differential pricing for
visas and visa services.
Over more than three years Marie led the Department of Immigration and Citizenship (DIAC)
global Client Services Transformation, and the innovative Visa Pricing Transformation - a
$100 million program of reform estimated to generate an additional $700 million in revenue,
that positions DIAC as a leader in the Australian Government's digital agenda.
