Home | Glossary | PrjMgt | EHL | ERM | HLU | PAT | HDI | HLP | CTL | Disclaimer | Copyright DEPARTMENT EDUCATION - DIRECTOR ITD PROJECT MANAGEMENT OFFICE [PMO] SELECTION CRITERIA - KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED - HLU C-HLU High level understanding of, and successful experience in, quality assurance, continuous quality improvement and change management processes Examples of my "High level of understanding and successful experiences" include: a Establishing Key Performance Indicators [KPIs] for positions and projects b Utilising technologies like Bar-Coding to reduce input and resource control errors c Incorporating Computer-Based Learning [CBL] and Computer-Based Training [CBT] as part of the quality assurance, continuous quality improvement and change management processes a Establishing Key Performance Indicators [KPIs] for positions and projects Part of my management training at Burroughs was to hold regular performance reviews with Managemet and staff and discuss the progress with Key Performance Indicators [KPI] The same issue applies with projects and sub-contractors and this is the real value of being able to monitor progress with projects electronically and using email with templates and eProcesses to meet timetables b Utilising technologies like Bar-Coding to reduce input and resource control errors Bar-coding is very effective for assisting with Quality Assurance I have been involved with Bar-coding for many years as Bar-coding is a key component of the RUBAC EII Methodology Currently bar-coding is most used with retail shops for product pricing and stock control However in 1988 it was a key component of the "Renewal Input" and "Asset Tracking" modules of the "Branch Information Administration System [BIAS]" for the Financial Services Industry Part of the RUBAC/Project Management research project with Hampton School included bar-coding every room, cupboard and asset in school to facilitate regular asset tracking processes including replacement and maintenance This experience was very useful for a 2008 project between Telstra and IBM to utlise Bar-Coding of racking storage systems and Telstra spare parts for a $ 750,000,000 7-year e-procurement project The lessons learned during this project would be very useful for schools c Incorporating CBL and CBT as part of projects A key part of change management is to have properly designed CBL and CBT courseware to provide feedback to trainers and teachers of new processes and procedures My contract with WICAT Australia where Vance GLEDHILL AO was the Managing Director gave me a very good insight of the value of effective CBL and CBT programs Around 1980 WICAT had developed a high level authoring language called WISE (WICAT Interactive System for Education) Interactive Authoring languages are very resource hungry and require dedicated systems particularly to assist with change management processes CBL and CBT may be very effective to assist with the Department's Aboriginal education and training policies Home | Glossary | PrjMgt | EHL | ERM | HLU | PAT | HDI | HLP | CTL | Disclaimer | Copyright
