Dear Daniel
LONG-TERM ROYALTIES FOR ON-LINE BUSINESS MODELS
Further to the Submission to Airtree Ventures to invest in a Volunteer Cryporocurrency
project for long term Royalties it may be helpful to provide an example of other similar
applications where Investors, Sponsors and Intellectual Property [IP] Authors receive
long-term Royalties for On-line Business Models
A Background to new On-line Business Models
B Long-term Royalty Income for Investors & Sponsors
A BACKGROUND TO NEW ON-LINE BUSINESS MODELS
In 2001 Standards Australia joined Electronic Business Australia [ebXML Australia] -
start dates and attendance of Members of ebXML Australia 2000-2002
On 05 Mar 2002 Mark BEZZINA who had recently joined Standards Australia, chaired a
meeting at ebXML about marketing ebXML Standards where it was disclosed by the
Chair Keith FINKELDE that the Australian XML Standard did not have a defined Name &
Address Standard - minutes meeting 05 Mar 2002
After the minutes of that meeting were distributed as an On-line email, ebXML Australia
was terminated even though there were 4 further meetings planned during 2002
In 2003 Standards Australia established SAI Global to market the Standards agreed by
Volunteer Committee members of Standards Australia
On 17 Dec 2003 SAI Global was floated on the Australian Stock Exchange and it is now
as at 14 Aug 2018 owned by Baring Private Equity Asia
However in 2004 Red Wahoo announced on its web-site that it was the author of the
Australian XML Name & Address standard AS4590
This 2004 Red Wahoo web page also states:
"Collaboration
Our Collaboration Practice designs, configures, implements and supports Collaboration
-centric tools such as Atlassian's Confluence and JIRA Products
As an example we implemented and now support over 2000 active users in a whole of
Government workspace called GovDex"
Unfortunately even though Red Wahoo had multiple Federal Government
contracts including accreditation for GovDex, it no longer has a web-site
On 31 Oct 2009 Standards Australia announced it had changed its Business Model
Many people who had attended Standards Australia as Volunteer Committee Members
were incensed by this new Business Model
It now appears that certain Committee Members may receive Royalties from Standards
Australia (such as Red Wahoo and TEDIS) to participate on its Committees
GovDex is being used in many Australian Government and State Government
Departments including NSW Health
And apparently Atlassian is now generating over US$ 600 Million/annum
The questions on this new Standards Australia model include
1 Who is being invoiced for GovDex ?
2 and how much per web-page is charged ?
3 Who receives the Royalties ?
4 What is the Royalty percentage ?
5 How long is the Royalty period ?
B LONG-TERM ROYALTY INCOME FOR INVESTORS & SPONSORS
The Business Model for Investors and Sponsors of this proposed Volunteer
Cryptocurrency project appears to be very similar to the Standards Australia Model in
that project participants receive long-term royalties of a royalty per web-page hit
The main difference is that the royalty for the web-page hit will be based on the
business generated via the Sponsored On-line web-page rather than being paid for by
the Federal and State Government Tax-payers
NEXT STEPS
Would AirTree Ventures be prepared to Invest/Sponsor an On-line Volunteer Cryptocurrency
Project with UNHCR-Zambia to assist Refugees to generate electricity in their homes at
resettlement areas for long term Royalties over a 50-year cycle ?
Yours sincerely
Stephen GOULD

SGG: Will obtain further information from UNDP Zambia to reduce those concerns
The meeting reviewed some of the questions from General Discussion and WASH and
agreed is important to have a Female Sub-Committee to address a number of issues in
many part of the world without running water including
