PTE Description Details:
PACIFIC LIVING STANDARDS STUDY
The Health Research Council of New Zealand (HRC), and the Ministry of Social Development (MSD) 
have developed a partnership to fund research investigating the living standards of Pacific 
people in New Zealand. 
This Request for Proposals is designed to establish a project to align with and be comparable 
to a National Living Standards study funded by MSD for commencement early in 2004.
The Pacific Living Standards Study will incorporate a research approach that is responsive to 
and reflective of the realities of Pacific peoples lives. 
A funding pool of $ 300,000 (fully costed, exclusive of GST) is currently available for a 
research project of one-year duration.
A two-stage application procedure will apply. 
To facilitate the assessment process, individuals and organisations interested in undertaking
research within the identified research theme are invited to register their interest by 
completing the simple Registration of Interest form (RoI204-PLS) and return it electronically 
to the HRC Secretariat by 5 pm, 19 January 2004. 
A Full RFP Application on the correct form (JV204-PLS) should be submitted to the Council 
Secretariat by 5 pm, Monday 9 February 2004.
