LETTER ATTACHED TO OIC TENDERER'S RESPONSE LGOV-NSW LOCAL-E TENDER 15:39 Fri 20 Dec 2002 REF:2C9EACN1 Y/R: Lgov-NSW local-e To: The Chairperson LGOV-NSW LOCAL-E TENDER Dear Sir/MadamRESPONSE BY OIC LOCAL GOVERNMENT INTEREST GROUP This is a response by the Local Government Special Interest Group [LZIG] of the OPEN INTERCHANGE CONSORTIUM [OIC]. OIC LZIG members have expressed in interest in responding to the following stages: 1 e-Services 2 e-Procurement 3 e-Security/Standards A fax was sent to Lgov-NSW on Mon 16 Dec 2002 from Guy BLOMBERG Chair of the Technical Committee of LZIG outlining the concerns OIC members for the current centralised systems for e-Services and e-Procurement This fax provided reasons why the Technical Committee considered the topology currently preferred for a centralised system would not meet the response as expected in 15.1.3.4 in the Statement of Compliance. OIC members are very keen to work with Lgov-NSW on this tender particularly as Lgov-NSW would like to provide a financial return to the Councils who support this project. However we consider that unless a distributed topology is properly evaluated through a series of benchmarks there may be insurmountable difficulties to provide a financial return for the Councils. Yours faithfully Stephen GOULD Projects Manger OIC LZIG NSW LOCAL-E TENDER Att A Section C - response to Tender B Award by the City of Stockholm June 1999 C SMH 06/07/1999 "Oz Wizards win Title" D Fax sent by Guy BLOMBERG Mon 16 Dec 2002
