XZIG Objectives

The Objectives of the XZIG include:
1Run a Roadshow for SMEs in 3 States
2Run a series of XML training programs for software developers
3Submit an XML application to the Stockholm Challenge

The Roadshow program includes establishing Specific Industry Groups like the Local Goverment Special Interest Group [LZIG] to research and develop industry XML schemas. This matrix of industry and applications interest groups and work groups was defined by David KOHN IT Director AIDC in July 1996.

Year 2001 XZIG Objectives

The Objectives of the XZIG include:
ADevelop 3 Specific Industry XML Schemas
1TIMS - Tender Information Management Services
2DATE - Standard date format based on ISO 8601 for E-business applications
3EERM - Electronic Event Registration Management
2Propose Schemas to ebXML Australia and OASIS
3Implement XML E-Credits accreditation process for all OIC Meetings

Year 2000 XZIG Objectives

The Objectives of the Year 2000 XZIG were:
1provide a forum to raise management awareness as well as technical awareness of XML as the standard for E-commerce over the Internet.
OUTCOME - 10 meetings were held with key note speakers from a number of organisations including W3C
2Establish 3 XML projects for members over 12 months - OUTCOME - 3 XML Projects defined - 2 submitted to ITOL for funding
3Develop an XML E-commerce accreditation process - OUTCOME - E-credits accreditation process developed

The 12 month program includes different streams of management, technical, E-commerce standards and user perspectives. It is envisaged that members may wish to establish technical sub-committees and workgroups for topics such as security, sender authority authentication, communication and processing overheads

This program is subject to changed but the dates are fixed unless key speakers are unable to make the dates specified and request changes

Forum for Clients & Potential Clients

One of the main purposes for forming the OIC in 1994 OIC Culture was to
provide a neutral ground forum to assist business management appreciate the issues
involved with successful long term implementations of Electronic Information
Technologies (EIT).

Members of the OIC are encouraged to bring clients and potential clients to these
seminars to discuss the issues and perhaps consider an involvement with E-commerce
project consortia to share the risk and propagate the benefits to user communities.

3OIC Project Observation and Project Participation Members may bring up to 4 persons
for at no additional fees. Non-members are limited to 2 persons
4OIC Project Observation and Project Participation Members receive copies of meetings
papers electronically and can access the Special Interest Group libraries electronically
5As a registered attendee you will receive electronically a copy of the papers provided by
the speakers for distribution within your own organisation and to clients
6A Membership application can be submitted on Membership Registration
