Further to our initial meeting Aug 2019 re joint venture proposal by "Petersham Park Waste
Collective [PPWC]", a meeting with 6 Council officials on Thu 14 Nov 2019 and a subsequent
submission to the "Petersham Park 10-year Planning project 2020-2030" we thought you may be
interested in some previous projects that have involved Local Councils with which we have been
involved
In Jul 1993 CouncilNet with the Pegasus email messaging system was released across Australia
with 102 members including Leichhardt Council as one of 21 members from New South Wales
CouncilNet had 13 important environmental conferences including:

Energy Conservations, energy efficient building design, transport strategies and link to urban
reform, renewable energy program

Integrated Environment Management, Local Strategies
lg.ghouse
Greenhouse issues pertaining to Local Councils
lg.waste
Discussions on Toxic and Non-toxic Waste Disposal issues
lg.eia
(Environmental Impact Assessment): Councils' experiences in the development of EIA procedures
At that time in 1993 many of our members were gratified to note that Councils were finally sharing
experiences and strategies electronically
However here we are, 27-years later, exceedingly perplexed to understand why Waste
Management and Integrated Environmental Management are still so basic in Petersham Park
Hence we look forward to the next "Petersham Park 10-year Plan" taking a giant leap forward in
Energy conservation, Waste Management and Integrated Environment Management
