In 2007 Peter AXTENS LLB (Retired) Mike CLEAR, Pim RAVESTJIN and Stephen GOULD 
participated in the Mosman Council Sustainability Action Group forum 

In 2008 the Sustainability Action Network was established as an un-incorporated association 
similar to many new organisations involved with Information and Communication technology 
[ICT] issues

Similar organsations inlcude the "Organisation for the Advancement of Structured Information 
Standards [OASIS]" in 1993, "ebXML Australia" founded in 2000, and the recently formed 
"Hyperledger open source Blockchain" consortium founded in 2015

One of the first projects that SAN members reviewed was the use of Volunteer Pedal-Power to 
off-set electricity costs for local schools, hospitals and key local community venues
