Dear Mr Mayor cc SAN Project Members

JOINT-VENTURE PROPOSAL FOR PARK “BIOGAS WASTE-TO-ENERGY” PROJECT

“We acknowledge that this land area traditionally belonged to the Gadigal and Wangal
peoples of the Eora nation”.

Please find attached a submission on behalf of the “Petersham Park Waste Collective
[PPWC]” for a 12-month Joint -Venture Pilot project to manage all Park Waste in the
Petersham Park area particularly dog excrement

If this Joint-Venture is successful it could result in the Council being able to out-source
the Park Waste Management to the local people who live around the Park

This project includes a Biogas Waste-to-Energy [W2E] converter similar to the system
recently installed at MarketPlace Leichhardt and published on Tue 13 Aug 2019

Ideally the Pilot Project would like to utilise the new MarketPlace Biogas System however
the Pilot project caters for its own Biogas Digester system as part of the Joint-Venture

This Joint Venture proposal for $ 100,000 over 12-months consists of 3 elements:

1 12-month local Education/Awareness program for people near to the park	$ 24,000
2 A 12-month “Biogas Waste-to-Energy” converter system $ 55,000
3 On-line daily Input & Output metrics for the Community to participate	$ 21,000

As you will be aware managing dog waste is a major problem for Water authorities as well
as Councils hence the significance of this Pilot project and the need to work with Council
to ensure all the appropriate Health and Safety standards are met

The Project Members would like to thank Clr Marghanita DA CRUZ for her advice to apply
for an Environment Grant and participate in the “Footprints Ecofestival” as well as attend
one of the 12 meetings over the past 3-months preparation for this proposal

We welcome the opportunity to address Council on this Joint-Venture Proposal on Tue 27
Aug 2019

Yours faithfully

Stephen GOULD
