B 17:45 - 18:00 - Review report on "Hull-Coin Cryptocurrency" visit F 05 Oct 2018
CJD said the trip to Hull to meet with the "Hull-Coin" Cryptocurrency promoters was
disappointing as no-one could be found to discuss the project
According to a BBC Article dated 07 Jul 2017
"Chief executive David Shepherdson said people would earn "HullCoins"
by "doing good things for the council or others".
So far 140 retailers have signed up to the project.
Mr Shepherdson said it would be "the world's first local currency of
its kind".Organisations ready to offer HullCoin include University of
Hull, Hull College and Hull City Council.
Sterling cannot be used to buy it, unlike some local currency schemes
already in use.
HullCoins are to be earned for recycling or taking part in charitable
and community endeavours.
Stickers on waste bins could be scanned to give credits for putting
your bins out, for instance.
Retailers would benefit from increased custom as people use credits
to obtain discounted purchases, said the scheme.
He said 800 people were signed up to use HullCoin but it was hoped
8,000 people would be signed up by the end of the year.
However it was useful to discover the Project was being promoted by the Council and
both the Hull City Tertiary Education faculties
This may be a Model that appears in other University cities
C 18:00-18:15 Review recent "Blockchain" press articles
The meeting reviewed the articles and the Australian National Blockchain [ANB]
"Herbert Smith Freehills and King & Wood Mallesons have taken the lead to create
the Australian National Blockchain
In an Australian first initiative, Herbert Smith Freehills, Data61 and IBM will come
together to pilot the first publicly-available blockchain. Known as the Australian National
Blockchain (ANB), the consortium aims to design and build the nation's first large-scale,
enterprise grade and industry-agnostic digital platform to enable Australian businesses to
collaborate using the IBM Blockchain Platform and blockchain-based smart legal
contracts.
Investigating a new digital backbone for business
For the legal industry, success depends on the promise of transparency and audit-ability
for all participants.
The ANB will allow organisations to digitally manage the lifecycle of a contract, not
just from negotiation to signing but also continuing over the term of the
agreement, with transparency and permissioned-based access among all parties in the
network, by using blockchain-based smart contracts to trigger business processes and
events.
These contracts contain smart clauses which have the ability to record external data
sources, such as Internet of Things (IoT) device data and self-execute if specified
contract conditions are met.
Empowering organisations with transparency and trust
The platform will represent a significant new piece of infrastructure in Australia's
digital economy.
The ANB will soon invite regulators, banks, law firms and other Australian businesses to
participate in the pilot, which is expected to start before the end of the year.
Should the Australian pilot be successful, the consortium intends to roll out the
technology to other markets beyond Australia."
D 18:15-18:20 - Which web-site OIC, EHS or Halisa-eu ?
The meeting agreed that the Halisa-eu website could be the most appropriate
website for the submission to the EC
SGG is to investigate if the Dutch ISP can provide the appropriate resources on the
web-site
E 18:20-18:25 - E-canvasser
The meeting agreed to review E-canvasser in the second quarter 2019
