While it is best known as the platform for Bitcoin, blockchain technology can be widely applied to improve business processes, increase transparency, and drive the creation of new jobs and industries. Over the last decade, blockchain technology has grown in popularity and use, and has already begun to disrupt existing markets in Australia and around the world. The opportunities blockchain presents have been invested in, studied, explored, and considered, in almost all sectors of the economy. Blockchain has attracted significant public and private investment, and introduced previously non-existent products and services across multiple industries. Despite its potential, there is significant uncertainty regarding future adoption of blockchain technology in Australia. For instance, there are unknowns around blockchain's capacity to work at scale while remaining decentralised, and protect confidentiality whilst also being transparent. The extent to which the public will trust decentralised systems is also uncertain. These uncertainties raise the question: can blockchain progress beyond the hype to deliver tangible, high-value applications and a thriving industry for Australia, or will blockchain amount to little more than a market bubble ? This prologue by ACS identifies that there "is significant uncertainty regarding future adoption of blockchain technology in Australia" This concurs with our own research that although current Blockchain models may be adopted by large organisations with significant CIT Budgets, Systems Analysts and Programmers, Blockchain is unlikely to be adopted by Small and Medium-size Enterprises [SMEs] without in-house CIT expertise If there is a Volunteer Credits Cryptocurrency in place, supported by the United Nations, then perhaps SMEs will adopt and more important support a local Volunteer eCredits system like Hull-Coin in the UK Hence the importance of an On-line training program to explain to SMEs how Cryptocurrencies and Blockchain technologies could benefit them B Review Overseas Cryptocurrency Research There appear to be few articles on Cryptocurrencies at the moment whereas with the release of the CSIRO and ACS report "Blockchain 2030 - a Look at the Future of Blockchain in Australia" there is likely to be considerable articles on Blockchain implementations in the next few years c 2019/03/13 Facebooks cryptocurrency a financial expert breaks it down b 2019/01/22 Regulation of Cryptocurrencies around the World - Library of Congress a 2019/01/02 Five reasons Bitcoin could enter a more extreme death spiral C Update on Blockchain initiatives c 2019/04/29 The Implementation of "Blockchain" in the Energy sector b 2019/04/08 AFR CBA, Telstra work top secret blockchain project a 2019/03/05 The future of blockchain according to experts in the Energy sector Date: Tue 07 May 2019 Time:17:30 - 18:30 Venue: Balgowlah RSL Contact: Stephen GOULD 30 Ethel Street SAN Projects Co-ordinator BALGOWLAH 2092 {61}(4)1600-9468 INVITEES Peter AXTENS [PMA] Chr Janece WILLS [JPW] Gloria OMODEI [GMO] Carline DUFFY [CJD] Jan NEILSEN [JNN] Nick RIDDELL [NHR] Tim CHENKO [TMC] Stephen GOULD [SGG] Sec Kathy REID [KCR] All On-line Contacts A 17:30 - 18:00 - Review Cryptocurrency and Blockchain issues for SMEs B 18:00 - 18:10 - Review Cryptocurrency Reasearch C 18:10 - 18:25 - Review Blockchain issues W 18:25 - 18:30 - Any Other Business Emails received NEXT MEETING AFTER MEETING ON TUE 07 MAY 2019 Date: Tue 28 May 2019 Time: 17:30 - 18:30 Venue: Balgowlah RSL E: 30 Ethel St F:{61}(2) SEAFORTH 2092 P:{61}(2)9949-5477 Stephen GOULD Projects Co-ordinator SUSTAINABILITY ACTION NETWORK E: ehn.1a3posgg@gmail.com M: {61}(4)1600-9468Project Minutes | Blockchain SIG | Blockchain TED Videos | IBM Blockchain for Diamond Ind | RUBAC Video | RUBAC Projects | Disclaimer | Copyright Home | Theme | Prizes | Admissibility | Eligibility | Award Criteria | Documents | Procedure | Other Conditions | Contact | Disclaimer | Copyright
