Duane - Happy New Year.

It is such a tragedy for those involved with the Tsunami devastation
that we are exploring if the Information Technology Industry may be
able to assist with the Relief program

Further to your discussions with Stephen GOULD last year on the
UN/CEFACT Trade/R.650 the OIC Management Committee have
requested that I invite you to speak in Sydney at a suitable time
that fits in with your itinerary.

This is an initial invitation for you to speak in Sydney at a formal Dinner
for the Australian Information Industry to contribute to the Tsunami Relief.

The proposal is that a formal event is held as an "Asia/Pacific
UN/CEFACT Tsunami Relief Dinner - Australia " in March, April or May.

In summary the initial proposal is:

1	Your presentation outlines the work that UN/CEFACT are carrying
out in the Asia Pacific region to raise awareness of UN/CEFACT
	and XML

2	All the Australian computer industry is invited to the event.

3	Companies are invited to sponsor a table and provide something
	for auction

4	The registration is electronic and can be viewed as an open
	web-site

5	the bidding is electronic on the night and can be open for review
	of bidders and payment

6	the proceeds from the event will all be channelled through to the end-
survivors electronically via an XML pathway

7	There is a historical review dinner in 2006 to view the success of
the efforts by the Australian computer industry for the Tsunami
	Relief

NEXT STEPS

If you are able to advise of a suitable date for you to visit Australia
during that 3 month window we will discuss with other EIT groups plans
to support Tsunami Relief Initiatives
