Abstract: XML is being heavily promoted as the new Standard top enable c-commerce over the Internet. These session will review:

ABOUT THE SPEAKER:

Stephen GOULD is the Partner - EII Projects (Electronic Information Interchange) in the Halisa International Network. He is the General Partner of Halisa-NSW Partnership.

He held senior management position with Burroughs including National Sales Manager Financial Services Industry (UK) and Director Office Automation (Australia).

He was head of the research team that evaluated ways of managing e-mail and electronic documents more effectively. This research group developed a methodology to provide a number of EIT benefits including:

1 automatically synchronise distributed information bases

2 index electronic information interchange (EII) messages

3 automate the business process cycle for many applications

4 provide a way to file and retrieve electronic information

5 significantly reduce communications traffic

Between 1987 to 1991 he attended 10 EDI Conferences. He was invited to attend the 1 week TEDIS Conference in Brussels in 1989.

He has worked on a number of joint venture projects reviewing information distribution including:

1 the British Standards Institute

2 Institution of Electrical Engineers

3 London Transport International

4 European Aerospace Association

5 NSW State Land Information Council

He has represented both Australian and UK Small Business Associations at EDI standards meetings
