As Developer Programs Manager, it is Mark's role to build business

and technical resources to assist developers using Sun's Solaris

or Java technologies.

 

Mark's career focus has been in the area of Computing, Marketing,

and Education. This began in Passenger Marketing for the NSW Public

Transport Commission over twenty years ago, and has followed a cycle

of marketing, sales, software development, technical support, teaching,

and in recent years back into marketing.

 

Mark's first experience with computing was in 1977 as a reservations operator

on the QANTAM computer system. Shortly thereafter came the opportunity

to specify the database schema for a reservations system on a bureau service.

 

In the last fifteen years within the computer industry, Mark has worked

as a Database Designer, Analyst/Programmer, Systems Consultant, Support

Specialist, Systems Engineer, Trainer, and Marketing Programs Manager,

with companies such as Mayne Nickless Information Systems, Travel Software

Company, Gould Computer Systems Division, Prime Computers, and Sun

Microsystems Australia.

 

Mark has made numerous presentations on Internet technologies, security,

and business issues to forums such as the Australian Computing Society,

Internet World Australia, Sydney University's Warren Centre for Advanced

Engineering, Palm Developer Summit, as well as SAS and Progress user group

conferences.

 

Mark's personal interests include skiing, sailing, theatre,

and rock climbing.
