	MOSMAN MUNICIPAL COUNCIL

Dear Madam Mayor

CONFIRM DISCUSSION TONY GEDDES RE FESTIVAL OF MOSMAN

Further to my discussions with Tony GEDDES Festival of Mosman Co-ordinator 16:00 Thu 12 Jul 2007,
I confirm the key issues discussed where the "KSAS-Mosman:Child Protection" project complements
the Festival of Mosman and other Council initiatives.

A	Standard Event Registration Page
B	Event Sponsorship by Local Businesses
C	Directories of Services and Standard Formats

A	STANDARD EVENT REGISTRATION PAGE

Tony and I discussed the number of Mosman organisations from Mosman Sporting Clubs and Schools
that participate in the Festival of Mosman parade (Att:A - Child Protection in Sport).

Those that wish to march register to be part of the Parade.

In addition we reviewed the "Calendar of Events in Mosman June/July 2007" published by the
Library (Att:B - Mosman Events).

Many, if not all, these events particularly the Mosman Art Gallery Exhibitions shows, could
be published on the team web pages which would not only reduce the Council's printing costs
but may also provide a better attendance at the events.

The "Kids Safe-at-Sport Network [KSAS-Au]" is the Parent reporting overview of the "Junior Sports
Information System [JSIS]".

JSIS has been developed around an enhanced version of the Australian eCommerce Standard AS4590
to provide a standard format for Internet applications and their back-end databases.

The enhanced version of AS4590 includes standard email, web and mobile address formats as well
as the complex address version for street and post office address formats.

It is this standard event registration page that will enable any Club to register for the
Festival of Mosman parade or allow any person to register to attend any event that is organised.

B	EVENT SPONSORSHIP BY LOCAL BUSINESSES

JSIS was developed to provided a "Leadership Development and Responsibility Practice" application
for Junior Sports players to encourage them to understand how sport enables them to develop
community as well as sporting prowess skills (Att:C - JSIS Overview).

Participating in the Festival of Mosman is part of the contribution to a vibrant Community
environment.

The local business sponsors of the Junior Sports Clubs may be prepared to assist with the
financial contributions to future Festivals of Mosman whereby the costs could be divided
between a number of sponsors rather than one or two major sponsors.

C	DIRECTORIES OF SERVICES AND STANDARD FORMATS

The Council is now providing a number of Directories of Services eg "Sport & Leisure",
"Children's Services" and "Services for Older Residents" in Standard Formats
(Att:D - Sport & Children's Services).

The Council IT Department may wish to review the enhanced version of AS4590 as many Council
tenders are stipulating that AS4590 should be used
(Att:E - Victorian Council "EasyBiz" Consortium).

C	NEXT STEPS

We look forward to the next Council meeting on Tue 17 Jul 2007

Yours faithfully

Stephen GOULD
