RESPONSE FROM BARRY KEOGH FOR 2001/10 SUBMISSION PREPARED FOR EBXML AUSTRALIA
Date sent: Wed, 6 Jun 2001 16:45:00 +1000 FM: Barry KEOGH Chairman AUSTRALIAN CEFACT MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE Stephen At a meeting yesterday between the CEO of Tradegate ECA (Andrew Robertson), the Chairman of the ebXML Australian Working Party (Keith Finkelde), Tim McGrath (Tradegate's representative at the Vienna ebXML meeting) and myself as Chairman of the Australian CEFACT Management Committee, it was unanimously agreed that the response to the DEWRSB EOI 2001/10 would be in the form of a letter advising the Department to insist on the compliance with ebXML infrastructure in the final evaluation of responses. It was decided not to respond with a 'solution - based' proposition as set out in your draft. Your work in compiling that document is appreciated but it is not considered appropriate from a committee such as ACMC/ebXML-AWP. The response which Keith Finkelde and myself will prepare and submit will be the only response from ebXML -AWP (or as it is sometimes termed ebXML Australia). Of course should you or OIC (or for that matter any other organisation or group thereof) wish to make a seperate submission that is your (their) choice. However do not associate Tradegate ECA or Australian CEFACT Management Committee or its ebXML - AWP sub committee with that submission. Tradegate ECA through its committees and working parties will be ensuring the adoption of ebXML throughout Australia. There is no inaction inherent in the decision to proceed in the manner outlined. Tradegate ECA will persue its responsibilities and rights in the this matter with much vigour. I would ask you also in future to respect the confidentiality of the process and to desist from distributing working documents to individuals and organisations who have no right to receive same until authorised for distribution. Regards Barry Keogh
